About me
I grew up in Managua, Nicaragua.
As the second child of 4 siblings, I started taking care of my two young siblings when I was 9 years old, I learned to cook at that age too.
I am all familiar with newborns since that time, also have cloth diapers as those were used for my siblings.
I attended church and I was a Sunday bible teacher for two years, the age of the children range from 2 to 7 years old
I immigrated to New York in 1988, I finished high school here, and after I enrolled in a Trade School to study Data Entry/ Medical billing.
As luck had it I was not able to find a job in that field, I joined an agency and took care of seniors in their own residences.
I started having my own kids and it was the most beautiful experience of my life, I was in charge of raising a human being and give them all the love and care I was able to.
I stopped working with seniors and I was a cashier at supermarkets and college books stores, when my younger daughter was 3 years old a family member introduced me to the first family I worked for, 4 years old and 18 months old twins, I was very comfortable working with multiples children.
As a nanny, my duties were, potty training 3 children, playtime where I assisted in teaching basic shapes, colors, and the alphabet, escorting three children to and from school, scheduling and attending doctor appointments, cooking and preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness throughout the household if concerning the children, and daily baths & supervised nap time.
Since I was 9 years old and when I was taking care of my younger brother I realize, children are “Our little people” with personalities, feelings, ideas, I am the one who in an early age can start empowering their minds to be confident in themselves, be caring be passionate about all they can accomplish in life.
The one thing many parents had told me I have is being patient and I thank God for that.
