About me

I grew up in Austin, Texas as the youngest child. I have one sister that is 5 ½ years older. I fell in love with dance at the age of two and have never stopped. That love continued at the University of Utah where I graduated with honors with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater. After college, I moved to New York and assisted my sister with her wedding plans.

As a child of two working parents, I had nannies starting at a young age. My sister and I were very fortunate in having amazing nannies that cared for us and we still remain very close with them. I understand what it is like to have a nanny very well. In high school, I worked with a children's party company as a party princess. I would dress up as the princess or character that had been requested and do various activities with the children attending the party. Towards the end of high school, I began working as the choreographer for the children's theater camps that my high school had. There are two two-week sessions. One for younger kids (ages 5-12) and one for older kids (13-18). My job was to come prepared to teach choreography each day, create a game plan for helping learn the show, come up with activities for throughout the day, help the much younger campers adjust to not being with their parents all day, and assist with drop off and pick up. During college, I began working as a part-time babysitter as well as a backup nanny for families when I was performing in university productions. In my freshman year, I became a daytime nanny for a professor at the university. I would watch her 9-month-old daughter while she taught classes during the day. Throughout all four years, I became an assistant choreographer and babysitter for one of my professors. I would spend lots of time with her now four-year-old daughter during rehearsals, as well as a nighttime babysitter during her and her husband's busy season.

The way children find magic in life has changed the way I view the world. Things adults would see as very ordinary, children can see as fantastical. Children are the future because they envision the world in a way we never could.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to cook and bake. Trying new recipes and teach people how to cook is one of my favorites things to do. I also love painting and arts and crafts. Doing fun arts and crafts projects became my summer 2020 activity.
