About me

I grew up in a small town in Georgia as the youngest child in a family of six. With three older brothers, I was very into sports and anything outdoors. My family was also pretty musical and theatrical. I enjoyed learning instruments and performing various songs and skits with my siblings for our family and friends. I played soccer throughout college; majoring in International Studies with Associate's degrees in Spanish and Early Childhood Education. Being from a rural background, I always found myself drawn to different cultures, experiences, and ideas. If I may, it was a bit of Little Mermaid's Ariel wanting to be "where the people are." While much of my college experience centered around college athletics, I also found time to work as a tutor, volunteer as a stage manager in the school's theater department, as well as coach and referee children's league's for the local parks and rec department. During the summer months, I also worked as a camp counselor. After college I moved to Colorado, working seasonally between summer camps and ski resorts. I loved the mountains and fresh air and had recognized a true passion for working in child and youth development.

I moved to Denver and worked as a full-time nanny for a few years before returning to school to obtain my Master's degree in Social Work. While attending grad school, I still nannied part-time, babysat, and then also shifted to working as an early childhood teacher for Bright Horizons Montessori. Even after graduating in 2017, I continued working for Bright Horizons. I enjoyed the connections I'd made there with coworkers, children, and families. However, when the pandemic and we all found our "bubbles," I transitioned back into working as a private nanny.
I genuinely enjoy working as a nanny and find that I use all of my background and education in this role. Even as pandemic restrictions have lifted and I've recently moved to NYC, being a nanny is where I see myself for years to come. I truly value the role and what it offers to a child's development and a family's peace of mind. Whether I am your nanny or just your babysitter, I am invested and happy to help!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Honestly, I hope to still be working as a nanny and bragging to all of my out of state family and friends about all the museums and shows I get to casually attend in the city.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

My approach whether I am with an infant or school-aged child has always been to meet the child where they are; physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Cultivated from the child’s own interests and talents, I create intentional experiences that are encouraging as well as challenging that foster a child’s self-confidence and awareness as individuals, members of a society, and of the world around them. That being said, we also enjoy painting, puzzles, books, balloon animals, legos, and good conversation.
