About me
I began babysitting for families in my neighborhood when I was 14, and have been working with children ever since. I fell into babysitting because I wanted to contribute to my tight-knit community, and I carry that philosophy with me still. Throughout my time as a sitter, I've gotten to know so many families and being a part of a child's life (however small) is such a privilege- one that I don't take for granted. Working with children is so much fun, but always challenging- I'm constantly looking for ways to improve! I have experience with children ages 6 months- 12 years, and each child I've worked with has taught me more about how to be an effective caregiver.
I've worked as a babysitter, nanny, camp counselor, and instructor. So much of working with children is about staying on your toes- being prepared with activities, but remaining open to different options. I love doing creative projects with the kids I work with- as an artist myself, it is so exciting to make a project together! Projects that require working together are a favorite of mine- whether it is an art project, baking a cake, or playing a sport.
By nature, I am a very curious person- I look for opportunities to experience something new. Working with children allows me to experience the world through their perspective, which helps me broaden mine.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Continuing to learn- whether that be in graduate school, or through new creative challenges in my work as an actor. The best I can hope for is that I'm challenging myself and happy doing it!
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to encourage creative projects- making plays, doing art projects, cooking something together, and coming up with new ways to play. I also love to get outside to play, walk, or just goof around. Reading and homework help are also really fun for me.
