About me
I am a former preschool teacher and look forward to utilizing my skills in more intimate settings, such as in-home childcare. I have 15 years of experience working with children, from birth through 12 years old, in both school and in-home settings!
Growing up in a single-parent household, I know what a big difference it can be to have reliable and quality support. I helped manage our home by cleaning, cooking, and arranging transportation for my brother and me. My classroom and daycare experience has given me the ability to shapeshift and meet the needs of different kids within the same environment. These skills mean I do very well with families that have multiple kids with different personalities. I am great at multitasking and maintaining a safe and clean environment for children to grow and play while also keeping them engaged. My classroom experience also means that I am great at creating structure and planning activities, so there is never a dull moment!
I also have experience working with children who have IEPs, speech delays, and children who may be on the spectrum. I also have experience with children who have ADHD. I've worked with kids in different kinds of therapies, including occupational therapy, and helped them build those therapies into their day-to-day activities.
I am fluent in parent communication, as it's crucial to keep parents informed about their children's adventures and developments.
In my free time, I love to draw and listen to music. I love dogs and I spend most of my time outside with my pug, Lola.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants

Still be working with children, either in a school setting or working with a family long term.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I think It's important for children to be outside. I often take children to the park so their able to move their bodies and socialize with other children. Other activities include: museums ( I love the natural history museum, they have great programs for young children) and local libraries. At home, I think it's important to make time for reading and crafts.
