About me

I grew up in a small town in Northern California with a thriving arts community. At a young age, I became involved with a local theatre company and started performing in many of their productions. As I got older and started doing shows in high school, I never lost sight of how the theatre impacted me at such a young age. I found it important to stay involved with children's theatre and I began to develop a passion for not only theatre, but for children as well. I spent many summers during high school and college assistant teaching and directing for a children's theatre company in California. Once I was firmly located in New York to follow my dream of performing, I found that I didn't have the same outlet for interacting with children as I'd had in California. This is the reason I love babysitting. I get to live in my favorite city in the world, pursue my career, all while developing relationships with children, who I find to be some of the most invigorating people in the world. Their little minds are so full of wonder and creativity and I love learning from them.

As a babysitter, I am very open-minded and try to see all situations from multiple angles. As adults, we can't always see things the way children do. To some, that may be frustrating, but I try to break down what's going on to figure out why the kids may be reacting the way they are, negatively or positively. I find that this helps me gain their trust, as well as helping us to develop a mutual respect for each other. My goal is to always provide support for the kids I babysit and to help them discover their full potential, whether that be getting an A on their next math test, or building the coolest Lego creation there ever was.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Making a living in the New York theatre community in some shape or form. I love helping to create new theatre, so I hope to find a place in the theatre industry where I can be creative, but also utilize my great organizational skills.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Music! I love to sing, play piano, guitar, and ukulele. I can also play the clarinet and oboe, and have extensive music theory training. Also, musical theatre, acting, dance, etc. I am a great storyteller and I love reading to and with children. I'm good at board games, puzzles, and arts and crafts (watercolors are my favorite). I love helping with homework! And cooking! I love to cook!
