About me

I grew up in South London, UK, with a brother and sister, mum and dad. Growing up I regularly babysat for three children every Monday evening and on date nights. Upon graduating I joined the Foreign Office because I wanted to travel and was posted to Rio, Brazil where I met my husband. We have lived in Brazil, Greece, England, and the US.

I help raise twin daughters whom I looked after full-time until they started school. I retrained in Early Years and worked in pre-school for five years as Deputy Manager. I was responsible for supervising sessions comprising eighteen children between 2.5 to 4 years old, with two members of staff, a parent helper, and often a student.

I then moved on to working in a primary school as a learning support assistant for children aged between 4 and 11 years. I would work closely with a teacher to improve the numeracy and literacy of small groups of students.

I also worked with high school students in the art department.

For ten years I worked as a lead volunteer for Girlguiding, running a weekly meeting for girls aged 4 to 6 years old called Rainbows, covering team building, confidence boosting, and having fun!

I lived in Boston MA for two years where I looked after a little boy from 9 to 27 months old and latterly his baby brother when mom returned to work after maternity leave. A typical day would include getting him dressed, going to the park or beach, preparing his lunch, putting him down for a nap, cooking for him, and teaching him through play. I had an amazing environment in which to educate and care for him, it was a great experience being welcomed into their family as a valued caregiver.
