About me

Hello, My name is Ashley Wiah! I was born and raised in the Bronx with my 3 brothers. From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be a caretaker. At the age of 5, my mother opened up her very own daycare center right below my house. I was her little helper from a small age. From there, my love for helping others sparked and flourished! In 2016 I went to the University of Buffalo to pursue my early childhood education degree. I knew from all the courses and things I studied that I was in the perfect career field for me. Since graduation, I have continued my love of nannying and also have gone into teaching at an early childhood school where I teach a class of 10 toddlers.
My professional childcare experience started at the age of 18. From 2014 to 2016, I worked in a daycare which became the stepping stone to more experience. I ran this daycare alongside some coworkers who were hired during the summers when the owners were away. I did a lot of lesson planning, free play with the kids, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and homework help with the after-school program.
I then went to Buffalo to get my early childhood degree. In my first year, I had an internship where I met my first long-term nanny family. I nannied for them my whole time in Buffalo, about 4 years and 30 hours a week on average. They have two twin girls that I worked with. I started with them when they were 1 year old and until they were 5 years old. I did primarily diaper changes, potty training, meal prep, sleep training, light housework, and running errands during the week.
Then from 2020 to last month, I worked with another long-term family before they moved to California. I was doing about 20-25 hours a week. I nannied all three kids. Their 2-year-old daughter up until she was 4, their 5-year-old son up until he was 7, and their 8-year-old son up until he was 10. I took them to camp, to play dates, and did homework help, arts and crafts, and reading activities alongside light cleaning.
I currently work at a private early childhood center and have been working here since January. I am the lead teacher in a toddler classroom that ranges from ages 2 to 2.6 years old. My class currently has 10 kids in it, so I'm used to multiples!
I also have more flex nanny positions where I’ve nannied some random weekends for some of the parents from my current school.
