About me

I am a New York City native, born and raised in Queens! I am the youngest of 2 girls and I always loved copying my big sister for as long as I can remember. She plays a huge role in my love for connecting with others through song and dance. I have always lived in New York, obtaining my bachelor's degree in psychology through the CUNY system. After college, I jumped right into my early childhood education career.
As a child, I remember always playing pretend classroom with my friends, with me as the teacher. I remember fondly how important it was even as young as 6 to care for the people in my life. I always told people that I would like to be a teacher. I began caring for children at 14 years old, starting with my little cousins. I would babysit them (with parental supervision) on date nights and engage them in learning whenever I had downtime from my own schooling. I always felt a sense of reward knowing that I was a safe person that my cousins felt comfortable learning from. I began more of a professional career in childcare in 2015 when I worked at my first daycare caring for infants and toddlers. I enjoyed building those connections in the classroom so much that I would offer babysitting services to the families.
I firmly believe that adults play an influential role in the growth of children. Children are autonomous human beings and often just need to know there is an adult who cares about them and who will catch them when they fall. That is so important to me as I care for children; to give them space to grow and learn as they explore on their own while also giving them the comfort to know that I am there.
