About me
I started working with children in Brazil, where I was a teacher, and since I came to the USA, I have assisted many different families. I focus on Education, and I like cultivating their interest in cultural activities and unlocking any hidden talents they may have while also focusing on helping them to be mature and self-confident. I am also very dedicated when performing my duties, always looking for innovative ideas to keep the children engaged, safe and stimulated. I am also an outdoors enthusiast, communicative, music inclined, and creative. During my free time, I like exercising, I am an avid chess player, and I play the violin. I also enjoy reading about Child development to better understand their needs, milestones, and age-appropriate plays to stimulate them to grow at the right pace.
I have cared for multiple children at a time, and I have experience teaching children with special needs as well. I take great pleasure in assisting them in performing their daily responsibilities, developing their skills, and helping them grow emotionally, physically, and mentally. I enjoy both settings, either large classrooms or private families, where I can tailor the children’s experiences and provide an enriching environment where they feel comfortable around me. I am active, responsible, patient, nurturing, and extremely committed. My focus is on providing a safe, stimulating environment for your child. Personally, I am an outdoors enthusiast, communicative, music inclined, and creative. My goal is to instill talents, aptitudes, and interests in children contributing to their full development.
I have experience with children of all ages. When it comes to my experience with infants, I make sure they are reaching their milestones, keep track of their feeding and sleeping times, take them for a walk in the stroller and verify they are growing in a happy and fun environment since this age is very critical for their brain development.
Regarding toddlers and elementary school kids, I focus on age-appropriate plays, learning games, and sensory plays to help them develop mentally, physically, and emotionally. I also aim to teach the children under my care early literacy skills, do many important projects and arts and crafts, encourage their cultural interests, and introduce important concepts in Math and Science by observing their surroundings and following the school curriculum.
I love how kids are instigators, intuitive, loving characters, how their minds are so absorbing, and how pure they are. My role is to provide all the tools they need to continue their journey in this world. As a caregiver, I engage with them, participate in their daily lives, and validate their feelings, which is very important at an early stage. I encourage them to try new things, not be afraid to commit mistakes, and communicate when something is wrong.
My philosophy is to be a mentor and a role model to kids and give them opportunities to learn actively and through play while identifying their specific needs. For this reason, my purpose is to foster their curiosity and independence and build strong children so they can excel in whatever they set their minds to. I discipline children through dialogue and reasoning, reinforcing good behavior and guiding them to make good choices in a mindful way. Not only academic skills, but I also teach them good etiquette, and I resonate with the parents’ values.
Last my not least, I am a confident swimmer and driver. I am comfortable driving children in Manhattan. I am very familiar with the city, and I will be commuting to graduate school in the evenings since I want to advance my career. Whether I take a part-time, full-time, short-time, or long-term, I will be completely honest and available to the family. I will work as a team with them and be involved. I would happily accompany the family on domestic and international trips if needed.
