About me

My name is Kyla, I grew up in a very rural farm town. I have a younger sister, she’s four years younger than me. I grew up trying every sport I could but soccer and track were my focuses I’m high school and college. I spent 8 years as a competitive dancer as well which definitely helped shape my discipline growing up. When it became time to choose what I wanted to do when I grew up I felt lost. Most of my friends knew right away that they wanted to be teachers or nurses, but the only thing I could come up with to tell my parents was that I wanted to be a mom. Which is how I ended up focusing on becoming a nanny as a career.

I’ve worked full-time as a nanny since I turned 21. Working as both a live-in and live-out nanny for working parents and stay-at-home parents. Throughout my jobs, I have provided full-time childcare five days a week. Starting the day by waking the kids up, preparing breakfast, and driving them to school. While the children were in school household errands and chores, including groceries, laundry, and pet clean-up. Manage household, schedule maintenance, and training of household staff. Management of the weekly family schedules and children’s extracurricular activities. Travel planning, packing, and personal shopping related to the children. Once out of school, driving the children to all after-school activities and play dates, providing homework and project help. Ending the night by preparing dinner for the kids. Cared for family home when the family was on vacation. Duties included bringing in the mail, taking care of all the pets (dogs, guinea pigs, fish, and parrots), and preparing the house for the family’s arrival back home.

What I love most about being a nanny is growing up with the kids. I love seeing them learn new skills and being there for them whether that be someone to read a story to or with or someone they can confide in when they’re struggling. I also like doing the small
Things that can make life easier for the parents so they have more time to spend with their children.
