About me
Over the past nine years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to care for and instruct a diverse group of children. As a result, I have developed highly effective care-taking and teaching techniques, which have allowed me to care for all styles of children and foster a safe yet fun and engaging environment that promotes creativity and encourages growing independence.
Recently, I've worked in the UWS with two boys ages 10, 6. My responsibilities included transporting to and from after-school activities, therapy appointments, doctor appointments, and special events. I organized and planned special outings (i.e. museums, outdoor street festivals, and parade viewing). I also assisted with school projects and provided tutoring. I engaged the children in educational enrichment activities, worked on communication skills and addressed behavioral issues.
My academic background in child development, BFA in Dance and, experience with children with special needs allows me to use a sensitive and creative approach with all types of children. I believe my role is to be a good team player and thoughtful communicator, one that facilitates families to have a productive and comfortable time with their children. I love being a nanny while I'm a student because I enjoy their endless curiosity and energy and hope to one day work in Pediatrics as a movement therapist.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Multiples
- Special Needs
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Working in New York as a Movement Therapist in Pediatrics.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I have a lot of skills and activities from my time working with various therapies with kids that I like to incorporate into my work. I've done painting with Q-tips to practice fine motor skills and coordination, and indoor picnics during the winter and tummy time with sesame street songs! I also love teaching dance/movement classes to kids.
