About me

My foundation in childcare began during my teenage years. During this time I helped my mother to take care of my siblings. Some of the responsibilities I incurred were to feed them, bathe them, read books to them, and most enjoyably, play games with them in our backyard. This experience came naturally to me and it gave me a sense of responsibility and helped me to achieve a sense of caring. These experiences were instilled within me and helped me to transition as I began my career in professional childcare. It further enabled me and gave me a sense of confidence when I applied for my very first job as a nanny in New York. Having adjusted very well in this field I decided that this is the profession of my choice and it quickly became a passion.

In my first position, I cared for two girls, ages six months and four years. I was responsible for preparing their breakfast, getting them dressed, and visiting the local parks, libraries, and museums. I was responsible for nurturing them and ensuring that they attained their social, physical, and developmental goals. Additionally, because I acquired my education in Food and Nutrition, I focused on giving them healthy and nutritious meals.

Later on, I was fortunate to work additionally with two boys, ages four and seven along with the girls, who lived in the same neighborhood. Yes! I had all four kids in my care! Juggling my time with the four kids became challenging at times but I was persistent and endured it. My organizational and time management skills were utilized and I was able to overcome many obstacles.

Subsequently, when that position ended I joined another family with a four-month-old girl. This newborn position enabled me to acquire a new set of skills. I cared for her and made sure to prepare bottles, diaper changes, and laundry, and maintained her space.

Generally, I take a special interest in the preparation of healthy meals. I am keen on safety and tend to be protective and also focus on supervision when working with children. I have learned that every child is unique and I enjoy watching them develop just as much as I enjoyed watching my own become adults. I have been a nanny for over thirty years and I continue to have healthy relationships with the families that I worked with.

Working as a nanny is a wonderful experience, providing opportunities to meet many families and children of all ages. I am very honored to take care of the children I meet and have a positive impact on their lives. I'm really looking forward to meeting your family and helping to create memorable experiences for everyone!
