About me

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I grew up loving reading, climbing the big tree in my backyard, and making art of all kinds. I later earned a Bachelor of Arts in developmental psychology with a minor in studio art at the University of Texas at Austin. Since then, I’ve been a practicing ceramicist and pouring my heart and education into my work as a childcare provider and enjoying every second!
Being the middle child of three, I was fortunate to grow up with an older sister to look up to and offer support for my little sister. In high school I worked weekends at a daycare for preschool-aged children, creating engaging lesson plans and crafts. During college, I worked as a Kid’s Club attendant, facilitating sports, games, and homework help.
In my last years in Austin, I was a full-time nanny for a 4-year-old boy until age 6. I brought him home from pre-k, prepared healthy snacks, practiced gentle parenting, and provided creativity-stimulating crafts, such as making collages out of natural materials from outside!
Since moving to New York, I've cared for one 6-month-old girl until she was 1 year old, providing bottle feedings, implementing a nap schedule, reading her stories, taking her to Crawler’s Club classes, and providing endless cuddles with her stuffed animals!
Lastly, I've cared for another family’s 7-month-old boy and have continued to babysit him on a weekly basis, seeing him grow to be nearly 2 years old now! I provided similar infant duties, and smoothly transitioned to toddler duties such as potty training, trips to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and local parks to socialize and swing! I am also CPR/AED certified.
My passion for the arts and developmental psychology informs my nannying style as I strive to create a stimulating environment for kids to learn and explore, while simultaneously being mindful of what each child uniquely needs emotionally. I believe our childhood years are so precious! Children grow and experience so much change so quickly, that it can be overwhelming to navigate at times. In this way, I find great purpose in having the opportunity to offer them a gentle hand to hold along the way!
