About me

I grew up in Medford MA, with five older siblings. Our large family was very close, we always went on camping trips, spent summers down the cape, and had family game/movie nights on the weekends. I loved being outdoors as a child as well as singing and dancing, which lead me to join the theater. I graduated from Umass Amherst with a B.A. in Theater in 2018. Since graduating I have been working as the Creative Director at Spotlight, a youth theater company. I worked as a drama teacher at Malden Catholic High School for two years, teaching theater in the classroom as well as directing the drama club productions. I have also nannied for 4 different families since 2019.

I spent my high school years babysitting and teaching summer theater workshops at Spotlight. During college, I worked at an after-school program, running a drama club for kids between kindergarten and fifth grade. I also helped with homework and ran arts and crafts with second and third graders. After college, I had a consistent nanny job with a family of two children ages 3 and 4. Duties included providing breakfast, playing outside, snacks, doing a craft, imagination play, lunch, cleaning up, starting dinner, and sometimes putting the kids down for bed. I have also nannied for a boy from the age of 3 months to just under 2 years old. Duties included feeding him and putting him down for naps on a schedule, changing his diapers and clothing, providing entertainment, and cleaning up the house. As the Creative Director at Spotlight, I ran rehearsals with anywhere from 20 - 60 children between the ages of 7 and 18. I would run warm-ups, exercises, and theater games, teach choreography and blocking, and oversee set/prop production with our high school students.

I absolutely love working with children of all ages. Working in youth theater allows me to help kids open up, be comfortable in their own skin, foster their creativity, and strengthen their public speaking/social skills. I lead with kindness and humor when working with kids, letting them know it's good to laugh at yourself and have fun while pursuing your goals. I believe if we respect our kids, they will grow into adults who respect others.
