About me
I am a movement artist living in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I grew up in north Texas facilitating a love for moving and caregiving and graduated from the University of North Texas with my BFA in Dance in 2014. I've always been drawn to the child-like sense of wonder that we seem to lose as we age. It's important to learn from little ones and take time to pause and discover / continually rediscover the world around us.
I've been taking care of children in the Park Slope/Carroll Gardens/Gowanus area for over seven years. Ages have ranged from 6 months to 11 years old. I also provide pet and house sitting. Before relocating to Brooklyn, I taught dance for 5+ years in public schools and studios. Developing creativity in the children I care for is a passion. There are few things more rewarding than watching children grow, and I would love the opportunity to help you with your needs.
The more active kids can be, the better. As a dance/movement teacher, I'm interested in keeping children engaged in learning in different ways. Not to take away from other forms of learning, but merely to highlight different options they may not get to experience in school. The more creative we can be, the better!
