About me

I have lived in New York for many years, by way of a small town in North Carolina. I knew from a very young age that I would move to the Big City and chase my dreams. Very early in my New York adventure, a nanny job fell into my lap. This job changed my life forever!

I have always loved kids and enjoyed a special connection with young people. Children are so honest, innocent, free, and funny! Growing up, I babysat in my community from the time I was 12 years old. I met my first New York charge in 2005. She was 5 years old and in kindergarten. I left her family in June 2014 when she graduated 8th grade and did not need a nanny anymore. I cried more than she did at her graduation! We went from Barbie, learning to read, and how to wash your hair to tampons, boys, and high school applications. It was truly magical watching her grow up and providing her with support, advice, fun, and friendship. We are still best friends and meet up often for hot chocolate and gossip. She was my Maiden of Honor at my wedding.

In the almost decade of watching this magical creature, I worked with several other families as my schedule allowed. Mornings and weekends could be available for children too young for school or for parent date nights. I have been lucky to work with lots of amazing families and great kids!

I moved to New York to be an actor. Although acting will always be my first love, I find that being around children is the next best thing. As an actor, I play make believe for a living and am always striving for truth and connection. It's a lot like that with kids, too. I would make a great teacher, but I am not ready to fully throw in my acting hat quite yet. Nannying still allows some flexibility... just in case Spielberg calls.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Financially successful enough to afford a comfortable living with some free time to enjoy the arts and other fun free time activities. In a fulfilling job where I am making a difference and am using my skills to their fullest potential.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I am an actor, a singer, and an artist, so of course I love any sort of creative play. I am great at arts and crafts. I wish I could survive entirely on making arts and crafts! I always do the voices when reading books and I know lots of good songs for young minds. Growing up, I played tennis, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. I also took dance, and still do! I love being active and am skilled enough to help active kids improve. As an adult, I played professional quidditch (Really!) with the New York Badassalisks. Yes, we rode on brooms. No, we didn't fly! I enjoy homework help, making vegetables fun, and being silly.
