About me

I grew up in northern Virginia with my mom, dad, and older sister, Danielle. I begged for a dog for years but instead, my parents settled on getting me a hamster named Speedy (eventually he ran away but we don’t have to talk about that.) When I was young I used to love riding bikes, doing art projects, playing basketball with my dad, and following my big sister around everywhere she went. My favorite subject in school was always English but I can't wait for the day I regain my elementary school appreciation for math.

I attended Northwestern University where I studied Radio/Television/Film and minored in Nonfiction Creative Writing. In college, I participated in various extracurriculars revolving around theatre and comedy and, most notably, was a member of Griffin’s Tale- a children’s theatre repertory that led writing workshops for elementary school students and adapted those stories to be performed for the entire school. Over the summers, I worked as a counselor at camps including the Congressional School of Virginia and the Chicago Children’s Theatre- where I led groups of campers ages 4-14 through engaging and age-appropriate activities. Throughout my senior year of college, I worked as an afterschool babysitter for two boys ages 4 and 11. I’d pick them up from school daily, prepare meals and snacks, and provide homework help and active fun. Since moving to New York, I’ve nannied on-call for multiple families with children 17 months, 5 years old, and 3-year-old twins.

I pride myself on being not only a caretaker but a friend and big sister to every child I care for. Every child is unique and my secret to forming a bond is to simply listen- listening to their wants, interests, and fears and adapting them into adventures, activities, and the source of imaginative play. I prioritize the values of kindness and curiosity and luckily each and every day provides new opportunities to exemplify those vital foundations of character. Character that will guide these children through the rest of their lives. And that fills me with an incalculable sense of purpose and joy.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Making a living making art and being beneficial to the world. Hopefully working in educational children’s television and engaging with people meaningfully each day.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

The kind of things my big sister taught me: How to read, how to solve a scavenger hunt, and how to make a fortune teller. And the things she always encouraged me to do: Be kind, be curious, and get a little messy.
