About me
I grew up in a small country town in Nebraska, riding horses and showing rabbits. Growing up in the midwest, you quickly learn the value of family and your community, hard work, and honesty. I studied Fine Arts at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and then wanted a change. I moved to NY to experience new cultures, city life, and the art scene. I started out as a live-in nanny in NJ working with a 1.5 yo boy and 6 yo girl. After 3.5 years, I was ready to make the move into the city. I got a position as a live-out nanny with a family with a four-month-old baby girl. Their family grew to add another boy while I was with them, so I took care of the newborn as well as the toddler girl. I felt like a part of their family in so many ways, and still do to this day. During this time, I went to school at the Fashion Institute of Technology for millinery. After being with their family, I was offered a position as an executive assistant at a wealth management firm, went on to design hats for stylists and designers, and then moved to SLC. After six months in SLC, I moved back to where I felt at home doing what I love; helping children grow.
My love and understanding of children started at a young age. I had a sister that was born when I was ten and learned quickly what it took to raise a baby. I started babysitting when I was about 12 and worked as a nanny & babysitter through college. Children and I have always bonded. To put it in the words of my latest charge, I am "an adult child" and take that fondly. I love to be goofy, dancing, singing, and playing games with the children. I enjoy incorporating educational play and activities to grow their sponge-like brains and also incorporate manners and how to be respectful to others. I have worked with children with ADHD and found timers very important in our day-to-day routines. I have worked with my niece who has cerebral palsy, taking her to physical and speech therapy. I love reading books on developmental milestones and raising children. I am a sensitive soul and find children just want to be heard and acknowledged. I cherish every moment with each child. Being an integral part of their lives truly warms my heart.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In 5 years I hope to be working with children in one shape or form. If not working for a family, I hope to have started my own children's center. Something I have dreamed about starting for many years.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I enjoy helping children find the words and activities to express how they are feeling. I love teaching children everything from ABC's, their colors, to volleyball and the arts. If working with a baby, I work with them on all their developmental stages, like gross and fine motor skills, speech, sensory development, and independent play and thinking. If working with older children, I have taught them anything from how to read to parkour in the playground.
