About me
Hi, I’m Farah! For the first 7 years of my life I grew up in Trinidad and I moved to Queens, NY with my family. I grew up in Queens and still currently live in the same neighborhood that I grew up in. I’m extremely close to my family (my mom lives 6 blocks away from me). I spend a lot of my free time with my husband and son. We like going for walks, trying new foods, reading, and spending time outdoors in this beautiful city.
My childcare career began when my mom asked me to fill in for her when I was in High School. Little did I know, I was beginning a fulfilling 20-year career. I saw how rewarding a great nanny/babysitter was and I wanted to be a part of that. It was an instant shift when I became a mom that this is what I wanted to do. My goal is to bring each family a sense of relief assurance and trust when I am with them. I want to give the same love and care I would give to my son to these families. At the beginning of my career, I cared for a 3-year-old girl which was part-time so I would take her to the park, school, and doctor's appointments and we did a lot of play dates that position ended after 2 years because they no longer needed me. I continued on to 2 amazing girls that were 4 & 6 I had such a special friendship with those girls we laughed a lot! I took them to school, and activities, and scheduled all of their play dates. Tucked them in bed when needed, gave them baths, and prepared lunch, dinner & snacks. I tided up with them I’m very organized and they became the same way. After a few years, I was no longer needed because the girls were in a lot of after-school activities and in school full time. After them, I started with a newborn boy and his sister came along 2 years later. I changed diapers, feed them bottles, read to them, took them to their doctor's appointments, set up play dates, and made lunch dinner, and snacks. Cared for them when they were sick. I did light housekeeping for the kids. That ended after 5 years when they moved out of the country. Then I found an amazing little girl who was 2 at the time when I started I took her to ballet (which was one of my favorite things to do with her) I took her to school, playgrounds and play dates. I made her lunches and snacks. We did a lot of art! This was short-lived because after 3 years she moved to another state. After her, I started with two wonderful boys who I will never forget. I was with them when they were 4 years old and a newborn. We did everything together! We went to outings, and dropped and picked them up from school. Went to play dates, and made breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for them. Did laundry and light housekeeping. After 4 almost 5 years together they moved out of the city. Ending our time together. That’s when I met a full-of-life baby girl who was 3 months at the time. I started when her mom had to go back to work. I fed her bottles, changed diapers, cooked, and did her laundry. After almost 2 years she loved to another state. That’s when I met an incredibly smart baby boy that was 2 months when I met him and 3 months when I started. Then he became a big brother after 3 years to his little sister. Our time together was so special! My responsibilities with them were feeding, bathing, dropping and picking up at school, scheduling play dates, taking them to activities, light housekeeping, making breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and bedtime routine when needed. My time with them was 4 1/2 years. And that rounds up my 20-year career.
One of my favorite activities to do with kids is arts and crafts. You get to see just how creative their imagination goes. Finger painting and drawing are among my favorites. I think it’s important we fuel the creative part of a child.
My motto is: I treat every child like I would treat my son.

I love art! I always introduce drawing, coloring and painting to kids earlier on. I feel like it’s a form of self expression and to me that’s very important.
