About me

My name is Katherine Wilkins and I’d love to be considered for a position with your family! I’ve spent my life nannying, traveling, training in theater, and working as an Executive Assistant. Through combining these skills, I promise to work alongside the family to make their summer and travels safe, fun, and educational for their son.

I began working with children over ten years ago in a Montessori Preschool Summer Camp where I wrangled 20+ children and facilitated learning through play and imagination - a skill I now bring to all other childcare jobs. From there I worked as a professional Babysitter and Nanny caring for children from 2 months old-12 years old. Although I find joy in all ages, 1-4yo is my strong suit and parents say I “speak toddler.”

I believed in progressive parenting techniques such as compassionate discipline. I am educated in children’s developmental psychology and am CPR certified (American Red Cross). I’m known for doing lots of crafts and encouraging outdoor play. Being on and near the water is one of my favorite hobbies. I am certified through American Red Cross on “Water Safety for Caregivers." I hold a Bachelor's degree from Pace University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and will be pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work for Children in the Fall.

I’ve also always been a BIG traveler and traveling around the globe is passion of mine. I grew up in Maine and my parents raised me to appreciate the world around me. At age 11, I lived on a sailboat with my parents and sailed from Maine to the Bahamas. This experience strengthened my independence and taught me to love being on the water. Over the years (both solo and as a Travel Nanny), Ive been to Thailand, Kenya, Israel, Cambodia, St Martin, Mexico, Italy, BVI, Bahamas, and Canada- and hopefully to you soon! I recently returned back to America and am working on securing my next temp/travel Nanny role.
