About me
Hello, Laymonique here I’ll like to briefly let you know a little bit about me. I was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas USVI. Where I visit every year to enjoy the company of my family who still resides there.
New York City became my home at the age of 13 when my mother decided to move to the big city to create a faster interactive life for my three siblings and me. Since I’m the oldest I began my love and enjoyment for children, cleaning, and design, being first my mother's helper, then the helper of other family members and family friends. I attended MCA High School where I did the College Now program and wanted to become a lawyer for children and families. That lead to my first job working for the Department of Justice civil division, as a paralegal.
It was a rude awakening, I was saddened by how heartbroken it was to see families go through this process after being an intern for family services. I decided at that moment I can assist better by being a caretaker than a child lawyer which my family didn’t approve of. I then attended BMCC where I graduated from (college/graduate school), with business management and Early Childhood Education AS (or are pursuing). When started my job hunt after my resignation from DOJ.
Which, I was then told I was to qualify in one area or had no experience in another. So I decided to try and help families with the things I LOVE most, childcare and cleaning. I have been doing so for 15 plus years as a babysitter, nanny, after-school provider, date night sitter, teacher, tutor, camp counselor, in-home daycare director and child-related assistant placement professional.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
to be a child and act your age, and make sure kids know they don't have to grow up too fast. So learn all you can for your age and stage and enjoy nature because it’s your best teacher. Love everything you do or don’t do it at all. If it is something you need to do but don’t love, just get it done and then reward yourself with something you love after.
