About me

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. I started working with children after high school and into college. During my college years, I moved out of my parents' house and started working full-time as a nanny and caregiver. During my time in college, I took various courses in sociology, early education, and child psych. I have always had an interest in children and child development and still strongly believe that investing in children is how you build a happy and healthy and sustainable society. Though I never finished college, the last decade as been spent working hands-on with children through the lenses of a scientist- I want to see what works, how to perfect communication with kids, and how to grow sustainable relationships with love and balance.

My time as a nanny, babysitter, and tutor included (but was not limited to) responsibilities like changing diapers, introducing solids, scheduling doctor appointments, introducing baby sign language, and homework help. Keeping a routine and schedule was key and I realized that I was consistent about that for the kids and sometimes, the parents didn't quite grasp it. So now, I am ready for parent coaching!

Practiced on a day-to-day basis for the last 10 years, my philosophy on child-rearing is founded on one main goal- to raise empowered children who want to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. This could mean enjoying a colorful meal they helped cook, turning off the TV on their own, or taking pride in cleaning up their own toys. Within a household with a set routine and mutual expectations between child and adult, children are set up for success by being given the tools they need to master skills like how to take a calm breath and self regulate when they are overwhelmed, how to be their own advocates and speak to adults in a way that make us want to help them, and how to process big and new emotions in a healthy way. And all of this can happen while doing fun stuff for adults (me) too- walks in the park, trying a new restaurant, and rock walks! (Walking around with a bucket and opening up rocks just to see bugs.)
