About me

I’m the oldest of two, raised in Miami, Florida, alongside my parents and grandmother (a total treat). My childhood was active and creative—I took piano, dance, soccer, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics. While not everything stuck, I played the piano into adulthood. I was drawn to the arts early on and excelled academically, receiving a full scholarship to Florida International University (FIU). I was an Honors College student, graduating magna cum laude with a BFA in Visual Arts and a minor in Art History. While at FIU, I spent a year in Barcelona through a student exchange program. After finishing my studies, I moved to Chicago to pursue an MFA in Writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I graduated in 2019 and returned to Miami to work as Youth Programs Coordinator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, then as Youth & Family Programs Manager at the Queens Museum.

I have nearly a decade of experience working with children ages 2-14 in various roles. Over the past three years, I’ve been a sitter for families through SmartSitting, a poetry teacher in classrooms, a camp counselor, and a certified Red Cross swimming instructor, teaching children as young as three how to swim. From tutoring elementary school students to caring for infants on commercial sets to overseeing family day events at cultural institutions, I’ve developed a strong understanding of children’s needs. I’ve handled snacks, meal prep, diaper changes, bedtime stories, school pick-ups, and drop-offs, organized plays and field trips, and led creative and imaginative play involving music, dance, and art.

Working with children is a passion because they represent our future. Guiding them with empathy, structure, and care is essential to their growth. Childcare and education are, at their core, the labor of raising a generation.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I am passionate about the arts (poetry, creative writing, theatre, dance, music, painting, you name it). I've taught all of these to children ages 4-18. I can, however, offer: 1) Spanish lessons (I am a native speaker, can read and write) 2) Tutoring (all subjects, K-8. select 9-12) 3) Piano lessons (for beginner and intermediate) 4) Painting lessons 5) ETC: I have developed interdisciplinary, art-centered curricula. I would be happy to plan daily educational activities for myself and your child!
