About me

I'm a graduate of NYU Steinhardt with a music degree in vocal performance and a huge passion for music. Originally from Portland, Oregon, I moved to the east for college. Throughout college, I found myself in various jobs that involved child care, and have quickly fell in love with opportunities to work with kids. I have worked consistently with a network of amazing families throughout Manhattan, and I find fostering relationships with these families and their children to be incredibly rewarding and fun.

After graduating college, I worked full time with a wonderful family. At the time their kids were a 1-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. I spent a year and a half working with the two kiddos; taking them to and from activities, going on adventures around the city, and fostering their educational development. I watched the girl learn to speak, and grow into a bubbly little lady. The boy went from loving to be read to, to loving to read! Getting to be part of their growth was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. While I no longer work with them full time, I still see them for occasional babysitting, to this day.

I spent two summers working as a camp counselor at an arts camp in my hometown. At the camp, I was the voice teacher and was responsible for teaching voice lessons, leading sing-alongs, and putting on musicals. I worked with kids from the ages of 3-18 and because of the vast age differences in the kids I worked with, I understand the differences that children need based on their age.

I am a trained singer in classical, musical theater and jazz music. I also play the flute and the ukulele. Teaching and sharing music is a passion of mine and something I would gladly bring to any childcare situation.

Over the years, I have had many babysitting experiences both large and small. When working with and watching after children, I think it’s important to create a fun, safe environment. I have a lot of energy and enjoy playing with kids. I think babysitting should be active – it’s not about making sure the kids are staying out of trouble, but interacting with the kids in various activities! In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, going to shows, taking long strolls around the city, and making music.
