About me

Hello, my name is Moira! I am originally from the Bay Area, CA, and have recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY. I have been loving it so far!
I come from a family of educators. My mother, aunts, uncles, and grandma and grandpa are all teachers. I grew up in a wonderfully close-knit community and took care of the younger children at my church as well as at the community center. My first job in high school was teaching swimming to children at the Boys and Girls Club. I went on to teach music, summer camp activities, and art to children in the Bay Area through many nonprofit organizations. I also taught English while living abroad in Japan for university.

My favorite part of working with children is seeing their growth and how they interact with the world around them. Some of the children I babysat as toddlers are now graduating from high school and will be starting college soon! It is so rewarding and humbling to see the amazing individuals they have become, and to say that I have played even a little part in that is so special.
