About me

I grew up in the small town of Woodbury, Connecticut, but a passion for languages and travel has led me across the globe, from London to Jordan to Israel and finally to Paris, France, where I received a bachelor’s in Arabic from one of the top language institutes in the country, INALCO. I have been living and working with families in Paris for the past six years but have recently moved back to New York City. Passionate about working with children, I have experience with all ages, including infant care. I am also fluent in French and Eastern Dialect Arabic.

My most recent in-home childcare position was with a family with three children, ages 6, 5, and 2 (6 months at start of position and over 2 at departure). My morning duties included: preparing children for school, giving breakfast, looking after the baby, playing, and singing songs, and cooking meals. My evening duties included: giving the children dinner, playing games, and getting them ready for bed and storytime. My Saturday duties included: giving breakfast, accompanying kids to the park, helping out at lunch, and preparing older kids for sports. I also provided English lessons once a week and gave drawing lessons to the eldest child. Previously, I provided after-school care for a 12-year-old. My role was to assist and supervise homework, light cleaning, and meal preparation. I also did occasional late-night and weekend babysitting.

In addition to my in-home childcare experience, my teaching experience has been invaluable. From 2017 to 2022, I worked as a private freelance English and Arabic teacher with over ten families across Paris, with children ages 3-12. My lessons provided a balance between conversation practice, reading, and activities—songs, games, and arts and crafts. I routinely worked with competitive families who wished to prepare their children for prestigious schools or moves abroad.

My goal is to provide a safe and loving environment, incorporating a pedagogical and creative approach emphasizing language acquisition, coordination, and cognitive learning. I find it extremely rewarding to be present in helping a child’s development. My background in teaching, language learning and artistic training help me create a fun, supportive and engaging environment for your child to flourish.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

My future goals are to continue my career as a nanny. I would love to establish a long-term relationship with a family and have my career grow with them over time.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I try to incorporate my hobbies into my work as much as possible. For example, I love to bake cookies or muffins with the children. In my last position, we completed a gingerbread house from scratch for the holidays! I love classical music and art and try to use educational CDs and videos to help them become familiar with the orchestra and famous composers. I might take them to a museum and talk about different paintings to spark their imagination. With my experience in teaching languages, I'm happy to share my knowledge of French or Arabic language with the children, by speaking to them in said language, or showing them songs and games, and educating them about food and customs.
