About me

Hi! My name is Emily Chaney. I am from a small beach town in Florida called Pensacola Beach. My bachelor's degree from Pace University is in Musical Theatre, and I also trained at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan for high school. Most recently, I worked as a Full-time Nanny/Family Assistant for an oncologist and pediatric neurosurgeon in Pensacola, FL. I was responsible for the care of a 1 year old baby girl, a 3 year old girl, and a 5 year old boy. I drove the children to their practices, appointments, and also drove the family car to run errands. I stayed on top of the family grocery list, kept the house clean, and cooked meals for the children. I helped with the development of the 1 year old; she said her first words around me, learned to sing before she could talk, took first steps. Also, the mom had to leave town for a medical residency position in Washington so I was in charge of a huge move from the family’s old home to their current one. I managed all of the movers, told them where to place all furniture, organized the entire house, and unpacked all the rooms. I have also part-time nannied for multiple families in Manhattan. These positions required school pickup, dinner prep, homework help, and light cleaning. Currently, I work as a PT Nanny/Family Assistant for a family in Tribeca. I take the children (ages 8, 12, and 14) to various activities in the city, do school pickup, cook dinner, help with homework, and help establish bed time routines. I occasionally run errands and tidy up in the home, do dishes and keep all spaces clean. I also work part-time for a 2 month old baby in the Financial District. I am passionate about the arts, music, and the positive impact they have on children. It is imperative to me that your child/children always feel safe, seen, and heard in my presence. I love building meaningful connections with every family I work for, and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to become a part of someone's family. I am a lover of cooking, my cat/fur-baby named Cleo, opera, the ocean, fiction novels, and the children's tv show Bluey. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
