About me

I grew up in Stamford CT, with my parents, younger brother, and two adorable dogs. I started dancing at the age of 3, and haven't really stopped since! I took singing lessons, got on a stage whenever possible, and always loved making up my own stories. Now, I write those stories down! For college, I attended Emerson in Boston, where I received my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. After I graduated, I founded an all-women+ theatre company, while during the day I began to combine my creativity with my love of working with kids.
Back when I was a teenager, I would work summers at theatre camps, where I helped teach children from 5 to 13 years old. I took the babysitting gigs whenever I could, and made lasting connections with families and colleagues in childcare. While still in college, I worked as a music instructor (with band and puppets included) for small children at a creative center for kids called Kidville. I would return to work at the Connecticut location years later! After graduation, I took a wonderful job working in a daycare, caring for children from 3-6 months old. From there, I took the lead in a preschool classroom at Chelsea Piers, CT. Then, I went on to teach theatre to the middle school girls at Greenwich Academy. When my contract was through, I nannied pre-school-aged twins for two years; they are an amazing family that I still keep in touch with to this day! Last year, I taught Drama and Public Speaking to the students at Rye Country Day School, where I also served as the Department Chair. I am currently nannying for a 3 year old in Brooklyn. Along the way, I've continued to pick up temporary child care jobs, including mother's helper, and establish strong relationships with families and their little ones.
My background in theatre has played a huge part in the way that I connect with children. I believe in bringing creativity into their lives every day and interacting with them with joyful energy, enthusiasm, and compassion. I also know how to improvise! Every child is unique; what works for one will not always work for the other. I believe it's important to learn who the child is as an individual, and tailor how I care for them from there!
