About me

Hi, my name is Sanata, my friends and family call me Dede. I was born and raised in Abidjan Ivory Coast. I went to school in Abidjan. I love to cook, dance, and go on adventures. I came to the states in 2011, to live with my mother and help raise my younger siblings. I have always loved taking care of people. I am a very nurturing person. I love building relationships with new people. I worked as a home aid, where I was taking care of senior citizens. I take them to their appointments and help them shop for groceries, and keep them company because a lot of them live alone.

My mother ran an at-home daycare from our home in Harlem from 2015 until 2018. I help her take care of children from newborns to pre-teens. I changed diapers, made their food, and take them to the park.
Some of the families from my mother's daycare sometimes ask for nighttime care or care on the weekends and I will go to their house to take care of their children.

From 2017 to 2020, I nannied for a family in Brooklyn, I took care of the family’s first son. He was 10 months old when I start. I set up playdates, spoke french to him because his parents wanted him to learn, cooked his meals, took him to play classes. I did his laundry, and sometimes I take him to his doctor's appointment. I am still close to his family. I love them so much. They are like family to me. When the little boy turn 4 years old I started to work part-time. He started going to school. Sometimes when the parents want to go out at night, they call me and I will babysit him still.

In Africa, we believe everyone has to take care of each other. We believe you need a team in life. So I love to always be a part of a team. When I work with families or any job I do, I do my best because I am part of the team.
