About me

I grew up in Greenpoint Brooklyn in a household of six that included my mom and dad, two older brothers, and a younger sister. My siblings and I are close in age and spent a lot of time together playing together. Some of our favorite games include classics like hiding and seek, redlight greenlight one to three, Simon says, board games, and playing house. I attended St. Anthony’s grammar school and played the forward position on our school’s basketball team. I also played on a Baseball team with my neighborhood's Police Activity League. I attended Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis for International Careers High School and went on to attend Queensborough Community College where I took classes in Health Sciences and became a Certified Technician in phlebotomy, EKG, and CPR.

Growing up in a large family, including many cousins that ranged in all ages is where I began caring for my younger cousins. Being a nurturing, loving caretaker came naturally to me, and my family members entrusted me with babysitting my younger cousins when they needed to work late, run errands, or go out for an evening. It was easy being a caretaker for my family because we all got along so well, we loved hanging out with each other. Of course, little spats would happen but nothing any normal siblings or family members wouldn't argue over...as kids it was things like you're peeking inside and seeking or you're cheating in Monopoly. All in good fun and now memories.

In 2009 I accepted a nanny position with a lovely family and had the pleasure of providing childcare for 10-year-old girl. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart located on the Upper East Side and Monday through Friday. I picked her up from school and would get her to her scheduled extracurricular activities. She had a very busy schedule that revolved around Squash and Swimming lessons. I ensured she was on time and prepared for her lessons and provided her with encouragement, support, and motivation along the way, always being there to be able to cheer her on. I also accompanied her to private squash lessons all around the city and sometimes outside of the city and state. After going home from classes she would begin homework and I would cook dinner. After dinner, it was time to wind down and get ready for bed. When she graduated 8th grade from Sacred Heart, she continued her education at Deerfield in Massachusetts, and I was responsible for picking her up from Massachusetts and bringing her home to NYC and back during school breaks. We also spent summers together in Southampton while her parents worked in the city. During our time in Southampton, I was responsible for caring for her, making sure she had breakfast, and driving her up to her squash camp. After camp, I would pick her up make lunch, and then would drive her to hang out with some friends and enjoy some summer fun. She now attends Penn on a full Squash scholarship which was the direct result of her dedication and hard work. I was able to watch her grow into a young lady and go on to win championships in Squash (her expertise) and excel in college.

During the time that she was away at school, I transitioned my efforts in assisting the family by running errands that included housekeeping, laundry services, and pet care for two beautiful Dachshunds, that I took on scheduled walks and to their veterinary appointments. I took part in the training process and social integration of the pups and provided 24/7 care by boarding them in my home whenever the family would go on vacation, holidays, or travel for business. Oliver and Jax were not able to be left at any type of kennel due to the levels of stress they would experience when separated from the family or me.

I provided continued support to a lovely family and in 2018 was offered another position with the family’s oldest daughter, when she found out she was expecting. I was honored to be hand-chosen to look after the newest member of the family and happily accepted my new role and started assisting the soon-to-be parents with moving into a new home and setting it up for the arrival of the new baby. When she returned to work full-time after her maternity leave, she would work long hours at times, and I spent a lot of time caring for the baby and started establishing a set routine. During my experience with the baby, we maintained a consistent daily routine that helped build the child’s confidence by being able to predict her daily activities and give a sense of structure and security. Children rely on the adults who care for them to be consistent and create a safe space for their emotional and cognitive development. I took part in daily feedings, nap times, diaper changes, and playtime. I also accompanied the baby to her doctor appointments, kept her play area near and clean. We went to the park and beach daily during social distance. We enjoyed playing at home with lots of age-appropriate toys and swimming in the family pool.

Once the baby reached six months we added classes at My Gym to our daily schedule, and I was able to watch her reach so many milestones in such a short amount of time. She started crawling at 7 months old during one class to my amazement one day. Her social skills were developing with every class as well. One day in March 2020 all of our world's changed..covid hit and we were forced to all change our way of life. The family including me were all forced to make a big change and move in and quarantine together. It was a big adjustment that none of us expected and a difficult one, but also very enjoyable. We moved out to Southampton and remained there for 6 months. A huge change for everyone but we became extra close as we were all going through something we had never experienced before. I also had the chance to watch the baby grow and develop at a closer view that was totally unexpected, but now going through what the whole world was going through together, we became family.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends. I grew up in a very tight-knit, family-oriented environment, and we often traveled and planned family vacations together. We plan our vacations predominantly around activities that the kids in our family would enjoy. We honestly all look forward to letting our inner child out and providing the space for the kids to be kids. I believe that children greatly benefit from being encouraged to explore their imagination and creative potentials..
