About me

I grew up in California and Colorado, the third of four children and have work as an actor, teaching artist, and fine artist in Chicago. I went to school for performance, and since then have worked in Chicago film and theatre. I love to bring this sense of play and adventure to my work with kids.

As my day job, I have worked in childcare for 9 years, as everything from a part-time baby sitter, substitute teacher, full time nanny, and teaching artist. I started childcare professionally, beyond babysitting for kids in the neighborhood, at 20 when I started working as a teaching artist at Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids. Here, in addition to supervising the children, I organized activities, taught the children about acting and art, and eventually got to design and create my own classes for a wide range of ages. While I worked as a teaching artist, I began nannying regularly for multiple families in town, and got my first experience with infants.

My first regular nannying job was with a 6 year old boy who was a son of one of my professors. Our focus when I was working with him was to come up with fun, educational projects I could do with him to practice his art skills. At this time I also worked part-time as an after school nanny for a family with two girls, 9 and 11. I would watch the girls and with their two friends, 5 and 10.

I stopped nannying after I moved to Chicago, and have only recently went back to working with kids full time. I'm currently work with one family of three girls for after school help and basic household management. I'm looking to fill up my extra hours with a few more jobs!
