About me
I was born and lived in Alaska for 9 years, before moving down to Colorado. My childhood included an older brother, 2 dogs, and lots of time spent reading, making gingerbread houses, and being outdoors. I loved singing in choir, musicals and the Madrigal Dinner our high school performed every year. After high school, I matriculated at the University of South Carolina and studied international business, accounting, and Spanish. Short stings in logistics and teaching English as a second language followed, along with the realization I wanted to pursue acting full-time. Throughout college and beyond, I had been working for a nanny agency in Colorado, feeding my creative and imaginative side by being around children. Thus, when I moved to New York to study theatre, I naturally continued my caregiving.
The nanny agency required flexibility and adaptability daily since I dealt with children from 3 months to 14 years old in every combination and age-grouping possible. My responsibilities covered the entire spectrum of nanny duties, including diaper changes, nap and bedtime, meal prep and after-school activities, driving to doctor's appointments, resolving conflicts, time management, and sibling squabbles. More recently, I worked with a family for two years who had a four-year-old diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder and ADHD. Daily routines included trips to the Child Mind Institute for therapy sessions and specialized playtimes incorporating methods learned in sessions. Other families I have worked for during the pandemic all have had similar needs to those from the nanny agency, with the addition of virtual schooling and COVID-19 protocols. My mom is a Speech-Language Pathologist so I have a plethora of experience with special needs children as well.
Being an actor, I love incorporating activities that utilize children's imagination and creative sides. These include staging plays, arts and crafts projects, building forts, and storytime. I believe bringing a sense of magic and creativity, along with a touch of silliness makes for a great environment for kids and parents alike.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
Performing in an Off-Broadway play which I both helped write and produced. I also hope to be an avid-reader, proud dog-owner and activist for social justice.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Respect for other people, starting with please and thank you. Reading is also important, whether it be someone reading to the children, reading aloud, or reading to themselves. Another important skill is cleaning up and I like to figure out activities to make it seem fun.
