About me

I spent the first seven years of my life in Ethiopia, Africa where I attended Montessori School and had my fondest childhood memories. After that, we moved to Greece where I lived for 27 years. I am the oldest of two children and was involved in sports, arts, and dance. I did track, gymnastics, classic ballet, jazz, tennis, and volleyball. My family and I always loved to travel and spent every chance exploring different cultures worldwide. Throughout my high school years, I’ve babysat children because being around them always gave me so much joy. When the time came to choose my career path as a school teacher I discovered that the world of design was meant to be mine. During College, parallel to babysitting I worked as an intern, so when I got my BA in Fine Arts, I was already an experienced designer. I worked in two Advertising Agencies until I opened my own. I’ve been living in New York for the last 20 years where I have been the owner of my Advertising Agency working as a freelance designer but also returned to my first passion as a child caregiver. I worked as a nanny for a family, looking after their wonderful boy since he was 1 month old until age 9, five days a week. Duties: I changed diapers, prepared bottles, and meals, bath time, bedtime, oversee potty-training, take him on daily walks to the park and playground. Playtime with age-appropriate toys and activities. Also picked him up from school and assisted with homework/projects. Stayed for parents' date night when needed. I also had a babysitting job for a lovely family with an 8-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. This family would bring me over whenever they needed help. Mostly during the summer, winter breaks, and weekends for parents' date nights. Duties: Pick up from summer camp, prepare lunches and snacks, take them to outdoor playdates, activities, and sports. Stay for parents date night when needed (playtime, dinner, bath, and bedtime). “Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us because of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” Maria Montessori’s quote will always resonate with me. Children need our wholehearted love and attention to be happy.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

fully integrated into a family that trusts me to the fullest, that I will be able to have taught the kids valuable life lessons and enrich the lives of both children and their parents. Hope to expand my horizons on childcare within the company, building up my skills by adding Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED-BL certifications and become the best at what I do.
