About me

I grew up In Brooklyn, NY. I have one sister and two brothers. As the youngest one of them all, I enjoyed getting all the attention. I earned a high school diploma and am in the process of pursuing my degree in Early Childhood Education. I did an internship in 2008 in a childcare center and shortly after, I was hired as a Teacher's Aide. I fell in love engaging in play with the children, learning the responsibilities and routines. I built relationships with families in the programs I've worked in, where I was able to become a babysitter for their families. Years later, I am still enjoying what I do.

I have worked with children since I was a teenager. It started with me taking care of my niece and nephew when they were a baby. I would help change diapers, feed, and play with them. My sister worked long hours and I was able to pick my niece up from school traveling on a bus and train. Over the years, I mastered the routine of taking care of young children. While doing so, I became very creative, organized, energetic and learned so much about children's growth through their developmental milestones. I've worked with children of all ages from infants to toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age. Toddlers have stuck with me for the longest. At such a young age, theirs so much a little one is actually learning through simple play. This is what makes it special for me when I'm working with families outside of a childcare center. I listen to what the families are looking for and bring my skills to their homes. Most of the families I worked with had routines that required feeding, diapering, playing, reading books, and getting the children ready for bed. Depending on the hours spent with the child, I'll take the child to enrichment classes.

When I'm not working with children, I enjoy doing these same skills in my home. I also have a passion for interior decorating. I fell in love with that as well; watching my mother and sister during the holidays or just shopping for home décor. Childcare and interior decorating are a connection for me. I love to create an environment that's purposeful, safe, and fun. I received lots of compliments in my classroom setting; making it very engaging with the right materials as well as my home. My philosophy has always been learning through play. I believe that by creating an environment that is age-appropriate, safe, and fun, children will engage and developmentally approach the skills over the years.
