About me

I grew up in the countryside of the Philippines islands where people's means of living is farming. I belong to a big family , got 3 sisters and 3 brothers, and back then life was simple. My father was a farmer and my mother was a school teacher . I didnt realize that I would become a teacher too later on . Being the eldest in the family my parents would always ask me to take care of them when they were away. We loved to play in the farm and near the river . We loved catching dragonflies, climbing trees and paper boats. It was the happiest childhood memories I ever had. So at a very young age, I already know the concept of being responsible and committed. I finished my grade school and high school in the province where my extra curricular activities was focus in writing in school papers. I went to the city to finish my college. To help my parents financially in sending me to school I worked as a Fastfood crew during the day and go to school at night till I graduated in college. Proud to say that I was
the only child in the family who graduated from college thru hard work and diligence.
I finished my bachelor's degree in education in a state university well known for teachers. As soon as graduated I began my teaching career as a Pre School teacher and eventually promoted to teach higher grade when I attended graduate school. Unfortunately I didnt finish graduate school because I got marrief. I was lucky to work in a private Catholic school for more than 10 years.
I migrated to the USA year 2011 thru fiancee visa and started a childcare job in CT for 6 years and then moved to New York year 2017 till present. I have certificates in Adult/ Pediatric CPR last December 2021 by National CPR Foundation, Certificate in Foundation in Health and Safety August 2018 by NY Office of Children and Family Services , Infant/Childcare ICT Academy in Manhattan Sept 2914 My previous job was in Manhattan ( October 2019 - December 2022) where I worked with a family with a 5-month-old child. He was 29 months when I left. Duties include meal preparation, feeding, diaper changing, giving a bath, doing baby's laundry, going to the parks, library, and playdates, keeping the nursery clean and organized. I also do light housekeeping. Prior to that, I worked with a young couple from CT ) October 2017 - June 2019. The older child was 8 months when I took care of him and the other child was a newborn. The older child was almost 3 years old and the other was a year old when I left. They were relocated to Salt Lake City Utah. Duties are almost the same with the Manhattan family except that I was taking care of 2 children. The previous year 2013-2017 I was a Backup Nanny then worked with multiple children part-time. It was my first year. Childcare ( July 2011- September 2013 ) when I worked with a grandmother with 5 children whose ages range from 6 months - to grade 3 . Duties include children's pick up and drop-offs, homework help, light housekeeping. In between those years, I also tried working in Day Care in NY but decided to be a Nanny, a job closer to my line of work, and proud that I've been in Childcare for 10 years now. I also became a volunteer Catechist during Sunday in our parish church.
I believe that each child is a unique individual with different personalities, different interests, backgrounds, abilities, and knowledge. Working with children is my passion. Providing them with a safe nurturing environment while having fun is my top priority.
I love storytelling, teaching them to read and write, doing arts and crafts, and songs with the toddlers. For the pre-schoolers and elementary grades, I can do after-school tutoring. I'm open to long work hours and traveling with the family's local and international travel.
In my free time I love exploring the city, watching broadways, visiting parks and museum. During summer I love going to the beach , attending concerts and swimming with my friends. I also love going to the gym doing zumba , yoga and pilates.
I'm fully vaccinated with flu shots and willing to undergo background check.
