About me

I was born and raised in Yonkers, NY and am the third of four children. Having a sibling who is 14 years younger than I am helped foster my desire to make an impact on the lives of children, and people of all ages. Being involved, and also dedicated to help raise my younger sibling led me to aspire to go into the healthcare field. I graduated from Westchester Community College with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Social Science. I used that as a stepping stone to get into the world of healthcare as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Currently, I'm halfway through my program, and expected to graduate January 2023.

I started working with children during my high school years, in addition to caring for my then infant brother at home. My initial job was as a mother's helper, where I cared for 3 young girls all under the age of 4. I was responsible for all aspects of childcare, including, but not limited to school pick up/drop off, assisting with homework, arranging and supervising playdates, baths, and occasional meal prep. This position lasted for 3.5 years until I eventually moved on to a full time position. Upon leaving this position, there had been a new addition, a baby girl who was almost a year old. As a full time nanny, I had more responsibilities in addition to the ones mentioned. I cared for 2 young children, a 3 year old girl and newborn baby boy. I was responsible for taking the children to their doctor's appointments, preparing nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner, providing a nap time routine, potty training the 3 year old, sterilizing bottles, remaining consistent with feeding times for the newborn, children's laundry and room organization, and light housekeeping. In addition, I stayed over weekends that the parents would go away, and provided Spanish lessons to the older child. Unfortunately, my time ended when I decided to pursue my career in healthcare, as I was no longer able to work full time. The children were 1.5 and 4.5 years old at the time of my resignation. I was fortunate enough to find a part time position with a family who had two girls, a 2 year old and a 2 month old. I worked 12.5 hour shifts two days a week. After some time, I decided to focus solely on school during the week, which is why I now only babysit during the weekends.

Being a nanny is never dull or boring. I develop personal relationships with the children and have the privilege of watching them grow and change throughout the years. I establish positive growth and development and know that one day the children will cycle their positive energy and kindness back into our world. I take pride in my responsibility of shaping the next generation into upstanding individuals.
