About me

Hi! I'm Eve! I grew up in Wilton, Connecticut as the middle child between my two sisters. We're all two years apart so we grew up extremely close and loved playing with dolls, playing imaginary games in the pool, doing arts & crafts, and being read to by our dad. I had an extremely happy upbringing and I love being able to relive the joys of childhood through the kids I take care of. I graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in French and I'm now a Masters student at Columbia University Teachers College in Speech-Language Pathology. I'm passionate about the importance of reading, writing, and effective communication.

I've been babysitting for about 6 years, for kids aged 8 months-13 years. I have four years of full-time nannying experience for kids aged 2-7. As a nanny, I was in charge of preparing meals; escorting the kids to doctor's appointments, summer camp, and horseback riding lessons; planning activities like games and arts & crafts; and encouraging the kids to engage in sensory
& creative play over technology. I've been an occasional/date night sitter on and off since 2014 so I'm an expert on nighttime routines and how to handle stalling before bed! I was also a teacher at Kinder Ballet, where I taught 2 to 4-year-olds basic ballet skills, and I was a volunteer teacher for 2 to 5-year-olds at the Montessori Day School of Brooklyn where I learned about the Montessori method of learning. I now try to implement Montessori strategies with the individual kids I care for. I'm interested in ultimately going to graduate school for education or speech language pathology andI was a part-time tutor during the school year for elementary and middle school kids. I'm happy to drive and do housekeeping. I grew up with dogs and am comfortable caring for pets. I'm CPR and Red Cross certified and am fully vaccinated with a booster.

When I'm not working, you can find me reading (Jhumpa Lahiri, Sally Rooney, Elena Ferrante and Jane Smiley are a few of my favorite authors), taking a long walk outdoors, playing with my dog, skiing or swimming. I adore reading to kids and watching as they become engaged in a story. I believe kids should feel encouraged, supported, and motivated; they should be able to make choices.
