About me

I was born in Guyana and moved to New York when I was 16. I did not attend school in NY and went straight to working to help my mother. We lost my father right before we moved, so it was only me, my mom, my brother, and my sister. I worked multiple jobs including babysitting, cleaning, and fast-food restaurants. I then worked as a receptionist at medical offices and worked my way up to office manager when I lived in Florida for a few years. When I moved back to NY I worked with my brother for his sign company. I then went on to get my GED and my Home Health Aide certificate and worked as an HHA and babysitter while my children were in college. I have a son and daughter and two grandsons.
I have been a babysitter for over 10 years. I enjoy working with the families and I stay in touch with all 3 of the families that I've been a part of for the last 10 years. I occasionally babysit for a few other families, but I've had 3 families that I worked full time for. The first family that I worked with was 2 boys and 1 girl. The second family (and the current family that I returned to now) was one boy and a girl. The third family was two girls and a boy. The children ranged from newborn all the way up to 11 years old. I have changed diapers, fed bottles, stayed overnight with the babies, pushed strollers, took the kids to the park, school, activities, therapy, appointments, and appointments. I have prepared meals for the children and parents and have fed the children. I have sat with the children while they did their homework, remote classes, or and playdates. I have played with the children and read their stories. I have helped potty train all of the children that I babysat that were not already potty trained by the time I started with them. I have helped them to learn colors, shapes, numbers, ABCs, reading, math, etc.
I love working with children because it feels rewarding. I have a great deal of patience to work with the children. I love to help them learn new things and explore the world around them. I love to work with the parents to help their children succeed and be happy.
