About me

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. In my undergraduate studies, I discovered my love for psychology, specifically child psychology. Once obtaining my bachelor's in psychology from Brooklyn College, I enrolled in graduate school. I will be graduating with a master's of education in school psychology (2024). In 2019 I received my state EMT certification. I also became hired and trained as an ABA therapist in the same year.
As the second oldest out of 20 cousins, I was always the caretaker. Having a twenty-one-year age gap with my brothers, I have personal experience with newborns. While in college, I worked as a teacher's assistant for a 3K class. I was responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans. I knew that I had a passion for working with children one on one, and I became a professional nanny. In the summer of 2019, I had a nanny job caring for four children aged 3, 7, 10, and 14. A few of the many activities we would engage in were playing board games, going to the park, and swimming. I have also cared for a girl aged five. Handling school pick-ups and drops off. After school, one of her favorite games to play with me was runway model. I also worked with a girl aged three, she has autism, and I would sit with her engaging her in play by finger painting, coloring, and making banana bread. Using socioemotional strategies, we worked on gaining and developing her skills. I also have been a live-in nanny, caring for children aged 9, 7, and 3. The days were often busy, and we typically had karate after school. When we had free time or days off from school, I enjoyed taking the kids to museums and puppet shows. Some of my responsibilities included preparing lunch, laundry, helping with bath times, walking the dog, cleaning, and washing the dishes for each nanny job.
Children's psychological developmental milestones are just as important as the physical. I am a firm believer in this, and we must be careful, loving, caring, and patient with our children. My main priority is to promote the child's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. My experience, combined with my education, helps me use the necessary skills and call on evidence-based practices.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach children social-emotional tools to aid in self-regulation and impulse control. They are learning new skills, and we as adults need to model and help them navigate the big feelings they may be feeling. I also enjoy reading and helping children discover their joy for reading and poetry. Overall I love to explore and help encourage children's passions and hobbies.
