About me

Growing up in a small town in Ohio, I used to look out my window and see acres of wild grass followed by trees and rows of golden corn fields. Now, when I look out my window, I see rushed people hurrying off, tall hard buildings, and golden taxis zooming around in every direction. It is amazing that I, a small town girl, have found a beautiful home here in New York City! I have been here for over 5 years now, and this city has truly become a home I love. And a large part of that is because of the beauty I find in working with kids. I love that even in this busy place, kids will still stop in their tracks and take their time to look at a bug on the sidewalk, pick up a lucky penny or say something like, "Wow! I bet I could jump to the very tip of that building if I had superpowers"!

I have had 10+ years of sitting experience, beginning when I was in high school. I have worked with all ages, and in many different environments: from being a vacation nanny, to a kids theater counselor, to a long-term nanny here in the city. For the past three years, I have been fortunate enough to work with a family of five kids (2 girls and 3 boys currently ages 5-14). From potty training, to tying shoes, friend troubles, and homework I have loved every minute of watching them grow.

While working with a family, I believe in developing a safe and structured environment to allow the kids to thrive. I have a lot of experience in 'screen-free' families and encourage creative play. I love to sing, dance and create plays with the kids I watch. I am a huge fan of board and card games - especially Uno! And I also bake with kids!
