About me
I grew up in New York with my younger sister in a Spanish-speaking household. I was a creative child who enjoyed spending time in my backyard drawing and reading. I studied Applied Linguistics and Education at Queens College. I discovered my passion for working with children at a young age but through my 10 years of experience, I found that childcare is what I love most.
In high school, I volunteered at a local school as an after-school helper, where I helped kindergarteners with homework and during the summers would work as a camp counselor. In college, I completed a student teaching internship, where I planned & implemented lessons for a dual language kindergarten class. I first babysat two 7 and 8-year-old siblings. My duties included organizing activities for this very active brother-sister duo such as games, arts and crafts, sports, social outings, & homework help. Around the same time, I became an after-school babysitter for a 7-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy. This role was more involved in regards to their education and included creating lesson plans to support the school curriculum and creating study games for extra support before tests. Following that, I was as a full-time nanny for a 3-year-old girl. I loved creating activities that aided in her development, teaching her about personal hygiene habits, handling meal times, and even conducting reading and writing lessons that brought her to a five-year-old reading level. My latest position was full time care of 3 and 5 year old sisters. We spent so much time outside learning about the world around us! Nature walks, pretend play, crafting, reading and really learning how to work through those big feelings!
Being a nanny is so fulfilling to me because I can let creativity and imagination shine. My high empathy and strong communication skills help me to create a safe environment for children to share their thoughts and feelings. I always lead by example and commit to being a role model for those I care for. I want to nurture children and promote their development while keeping their confidence high so they can grow into intelligent and empathetic beings that can make the world a better place.

In 5 years I hope to be working as a professional nanny with a long term family and I also hope to have expanded my knowledge about child psychology!
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to do arts and crafts through different mediums such as sculpting, painting, drawing, and making collages. My background in education and language acquisition helps me when teaching a child letter sounds, reading, and even Spanish. I also love to cook and give the children I care for opportunities to explore food and get creative in the kitchen with me, while simultaneously learning the importance of following steps and kitchen safety! I advocate for learning through play and I love to create wonder and fun in the little things. Found a cool rock on the floor? That’s actually the rarest crystal. Cleaning up some blocks? No, we’re actually racing to get all the treasure back in the chest before the pirates come and steal it! I let children safely explore the world around them and create fun learning experiences in every day tasks.
