About me

I was born and raised in Barbados in a family of 5 girls and 2 boys. I was the middle child but thankfully I didn’t have middle child syndrome. Schools in Barbados are a bit different from schools here in the USA. I attended infants school went on to primary school and then to secondary school. As a child, I learned from early to help take care of my sibling because my parents were working quite a bit and so we had to fend for ourselves quite often, this is where my early love for childcare comes from. After school some evenings but mostly on weekends, I would do some babysitting for some of my neighbors and then during the vacation weeks.
At the end of secondary school, I went on to a polytechnic school where I started to learn about basic care for infants and elderly people. I got my certification and went on to work at a small daycare center for babies toddlers and preschool children.
I would also work at the hotel circuits where I met a family from Washington that invited me to come to the USA to work as the nanny. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out for long and I then moved to NYC where I started work with a family in Brooklyn. The Baron family, I worked with them for about 2 years before they moved to Illinois. I went with them to help them get settled there after 3 months.
I came back to NYC and started my long career as a loving nanny. I’ve worked with 4 very nice families since then and we’re all are lifelong friends years after I’ve left those positions. I’ve worked with children from 2 months to 13 years.
I really love taking care of children to see them grow, and teach them new things, and also to celebrate stages in their lives and see their smiling faces.it has also though me a whole lot of patience and all the children I’ve babysat have made a big impact on me.

In the next 5 years I hope to be happy and healthy and still doing what I love which is childcare and helping people in general.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Life skills go with development so for me it’s communication, self control, new challenges, learning, talking thinking and focus. Activities would be music dance drawing singing playing and doing puzzles.
