About me

Born and raised in Iowa, the youngest of five children, after getting my BA in Theatre, I traveled around the country doing theatre, finally landing in NY to work as an actor and filmmaker.

“What are we going to do without you?” is a sentiment often expressed by the families I’ve worked with. A nanny for ten plus years for eight families with children ranging in age from infant to eight years, I’ve juggled the unique evolving day-to-day needs of each family. Often beginning my work with a family to help ease the challenges of a new transition, whether that be a firstborn, a new sibling, an adoption, or a move to a new state, I love helping families find and thrive in their new normal.

With infants I’ve managed bottle feedings, sleep training, transitioning to solids, caring for the needs of a baby post-surgery, and practicing new developmental milestones like sitting up, walking, and forming new sounds and words.

Moving into toddler and pre-school / school age, I love to plan age-appropriate activities like baking, imaginative play, science experiments, crafts, dance parties, and trips to splash parks, storytimes, and museums. I’m also experienced at managing their changing schedules with school, sports, and classes.

In my free time, I love playing around with new recipes in the kitchen and feeding those I love. Some of my favorites to make are my paleo pancakes (with coffee of course), soups and curries on cold winter days, and charcuterie boards. I also love to go for runs in the park, see the theatre, and visit my nieces.

I love baking with kids and letting them measure and stir and frost and get their hands dirty and feel proud of the result. I love painting and doing crafts with kids as it was one of my first loves as a kid.
