About me

My name is Kris Louis. I grew in Stamford, CT all my life along with my 2 parents and 5 siblings. I grew up in a very musical family and as a child, I loved musical theater. As I got older I fell in love with cosmetics, poetry, sports, and film production. I am currently pursuing a business degree and learning more about the fields I intend to pursue careers in. The degree I am pursuing may not be directly connected to child care but one of my long-term goals is to pursue a psychology master's degree in order to work with children and young adults with disabilities.

I have been working with children for about 5 years and in different settings. I am an Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and speak Haitian-creole. I have worked at a summer camp, babysitting agency in my hometown, and as a Sunday school teacher. I have worked with ages ranging from 2 months - 15 years of age. As a camp counselor I worked with 3 different children with disabilities, but 1 main child one-on-one who was 10 years old, assisting him with different activities, transitions, and reaching goals.

In my free time, I read, write poetry, play tennis, binge Marvel movies, and learn new ways to expand my mind as a creative. My love for working with children stems from not having the best childhood growing up. Growing up I didn't feel heard, seen, and like I had a friend I could lean on. So, I want to provide that for children either if they have an amazing home lifestyle or not because everyone could use an extra friend and support system. My approach to childcare is to simply care. I care about the well-being of children, helping them through transitions, nourishing their minds, being an unwavering support system, and most importantly having fun with them!
