About me
My name is Bianca Montes. I grew up in California. Being from the bay area gave me the opportunity to grow up around a mix of people and cultures. I transferred from De Anza College to San Francisco State Univerity in the summer of 2018. I am a recent first-generation graduate from San Francisco State University. I have an Associates's Degree and a Bachelor's of Science degree in History. I am CPR/FIRST AID certified! I have also attended the Heads Up training, which focuses on the causes, signs, and aid of a concussion. I have over eight years of experience working with children. I have been babysitting children between the ages of 6 months to 14 since I was 15 years old.
In 2015, I began working at California Sports Center as a gymnastics coach. I quickly became the interim preschool coordinator, lead recreational gymnastic coach, and the birthday party coordinator. In these roles, I created and executed weekly lesson plans for children at the preschool and recreational levels. My students ranged from 18-month-olds to twelve years olds. My class sizes ranged from 3 to 8 kids per hour-long session. I gained so much knowledge about this job specifically in the emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children. I began working for the YMCA as an after-school enrichment leader. I was in charge of second and third grade, each grade had about 16 students. I assisted the site director in the planning, implementation, and facilitation of enrichment curriculum and program activities for the after-school program. I created and executed a STEM-based lesson plan once a week. I improved children’s academic engagement, behavior, and social development through daily check-ins with parents. In 2020, I became the site coordinator for After-School and Safety Education at Esperanza Middle School. I was responsible for the supervision, planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the program in person and via zoom. My student’s ages ranged from 11 to 14 years old.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love to teach children sports games, enrichment activities usually STEM-based, fun arts & crafts. I believe structured playtime is crucial to child development but I also love to let kids by kids by letting them get their wiggles out.
