About me
Hi! My name is Lauren and I’m 27. I grew up in Easton, PA (about an hour and a half from the city) and am an only child. As a result, I have a very close relationship with my parents. Growing up I always wanted siblings, but had to be creative when playing independently at home. I’d play with dolls for hours, do crafts, read books, and use my imagination constantly. I value this aspect of my childhood and love to encourage creative and spontaneous play with the children I nanny for. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from DeSales University. I currently work full-time as a Recruiter for the largest logistics company in the country. I love my job but also miss working with kids like
I did for most of college and for a little bit after. Children bring a type of joy and spontaneity than isn’t present in the corporate world, so I love nannying part-time.
My child care experience goes all the way back to my high school years, beginning in 2009/2010. I started out as a date-night sitter for a few different families that I knew. In college I had my first part-time nanny job for a 4-year-old boy. I would go over and get him ready for daycare in the mornings while his mom got ready for work, and then I would drop him off at daycare. Once I was done with my college classes, I’d pick him up and bring him home. We would play with cars, read books, make dinner, do bath time, etc until his mom got home. Shortly after I graduated college, I spent six months as a full-time nanny for a 6-month-old and a two-year-old. My days consisted of preparing meals, warming bottles, changing diapers, putting them down for naps, playing, etc. I found a job in my field of study so I left this position. Most recently, in the beginning of 2021I began watching a set of 7-year-old twin girls on Saturdays and some Wednesday evenings.
My approach to childcare is to be gentle, patient, and creative. As a nanny it’s my job to keep your children safe and ensure they have a positive experience with me. That may include doing puzzles, reading, going on walks, helping with homework, baking, etc. I am excited to learn more about your family!
