About me

I grew up in the Uptown neighborhood on the north side of Chicago. I was raised with an older sister and younger brother, when I turned 14 years old, my baby sister was born. I have a big extended family, so growing up there was a lot of love around me. This influenced my care for others and my nurturing personality. Growing up, I enjoyed music, writing, and singing. It became a part of my life at an early age and my first love. My passion for music led me to pursue Columbia College after high school. I majored in music under a singer-songwriter concentration. I attended college for 1 year. I’ve only had 3 consistent passions in my life; music, children, and skincare. Therefore, after I left Columbia, I pursued childcare more professionally and other job opportunities including sales within the fitness industry.
As a child, I was very helpful and caring of other children, so naturally, I gravitated towards childcare. I’ve worked professionally in childcare for almost 10 years. My high school teacher gave me my first “real” paid experience. I started working with her family when her son was 2 years old until he was 4. I managed his nighttime and weekend routines, planned activities, along with pet care and light housekeeping. Once their family moved back to Ohio, about a year later I started working with Chime by Sittercity. Chime was an on-demand childcare service. I worked with Chime for 2 years as a full-time nanny/sitter with about 100 different families. Through Chime, I worked with children ranging from 2mos-13 years old, multiples, and special needs. After Chime, I worked as a full-time and part-time nanny for different families throughout the years. The children were 8mos, 7 years, 9 years, 5-year-old twins, 1-year-old, 7mos - all from different families I handled daytime and nighttime activities, nighttime routines, morning routines, playdates, fun activities, developmental activities, etc.
The most rewarding part of connecting with a child is the fulfilling impact that a nanny can contribute on their life, character, and personal freedom. I believe in helping to inspire a child’s natural personality and characteristics, not in control. I’ve realized children are the true leaders, we just have to listen and guide them accordingly.
