About me

I grew up in Colorado and have two younger sisters. I was always very active growing up and enjoyed playing sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track. I moved to New York in 2009 to pursue a BBA at Baruch College while playing DIII Women's Volleyball. After graduating I decided that I wanted to join the Peace Corps. and lived in a small rural community in Costa Rica for 2 years working on a variety of community projects. I ended up working a lot with youth in my community, particularly through projects in the elementary school and high school. After the Peace Corps., I went on to pursue a Master's in International Development at a small university in The Netherlands. Between all of this, I have always been a PT or summer nanny because I enjoy being around kids and there are always abundant job opportunities. I have also worked in nonprofits and in government since graduating from my Master's program. I would describe myself as someone who loves to learn, experience new cultures, get to know new people and travel.

I have close to 10 years of experience in childcare. Most of my experience is with children in the 2-10 age groups. I have experience organizing schedules, coming up with activities to keep kids engaged, meal prep, and transportation to/from extracurricular activities. I also coached volleyball for 3rd-6th graders and love stressing the importance of an active lifestyle and teamwork. I speak fluent Spanish, am CPR certified, and am Youth Mental Health certified.

I love the way that kids remind me to be in constant wonder of the world and appreciate the little things. They teach me just as much as I try to teach them. I love approaching my relationships with new children with patience, openness, and silliness. Every child has different needs so I like to really get to know each child to better understand how I can support them.
