About me

I grew up in the beautiful island of St. Lucia, then in my early 20s I moved to Martinique where I spent most of my adult years raising my three children. In Martinique I became fluent and competent in speaking and reading French. Approximately 6 years ago I moved to  Brooklyn. I grew up in a big family with seven other siblings with me being the seventh. As a child I enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends. I studied Home Health Aid one year ago and have had extensive experience working with families and kids from 3 months to 12 years old. During this time, the majority of my assignments have been with twins.
    I grew up babysitting my nieces and nephews. I also helped raise up my younger sibling. In the past 7 years I have worked as a live-in nanny with various families with children between 0-12 years old. This job included meal prep, housecleaning, naptime, story times, going on walks, going to the park to play, getting kids dressing for school, providing entertainment and bedtime. More recently, I have been working on many cases with twins from 3 weeks old. Some of my duties in this role include feeding, changing diapers, bathing, and aiding with naptime.
    I have always enjoyed working with kids at a young age and became motivated as I helped my sisters and brothers with their kids. I enjoy storytelling and kids have such great imaginations therefore it makes it more fun and interesting. I feel that kids bring their belief that anything is possible and in the drama space where their creativity is explored and encouraged, there are no limits to what can be achieved. Hence, why it is so important to tap into their creativity. I also implement French into my interactions with kids if the parents agree. For example, in simple instructions such as thank you, yes or no. I find that this helps introduce a second language and motivates them to learn.
    I enjoy working with kids and helping them grow as they face new challenges. I have a passion for child care and I strive to treat each child I care for as if they were my own with love and respect. I enjoy spending time with kids as they are full of energy and life. It would be my honor to care for your son or daughter.
